Mission accomplished, thank God.
1 mile warm-up
2 miles at an 8:30 pace (17 minutes) followed by
4 miles at a 7:42 pace (30 minutes, 52 seconds) followed by
2 miles at an 8:30 pace (17 minutes)
1 mile cool down
Those middle 4 miles were tough on me. The first half of was around a 7:54 pace (into the headwinds), and then I picked it up to a 7:31 pace in the last half. At least I got a negative split. Let me tell you, I was glad to slow down to marathon goal pace. After that workout, the 1-mile cool down even hurt.
Time to get cleaned up, ice in the pool for a quick 10 minutes and then grocery shop. Looking foward to family time for the rest of the day.
