It was hard to get up this morning before the sun, but had to get going and get the kids all set for school today. It was chilly this morning. I could see my breath and there was dew on the rooftops, but the forecast for today is 81-degrees! WOW! It's going to be an easy/recovery run of 6 miles today. This will bring me to my highest mileage week ever: 55.3. However, the week ahead will top that with a total of 57-60. Then I start to cut down a little before the taper phase. I can't believe the
Boston Marathon is only one month away.

I'm so excited and feeling pretty good about all this training. I pray that it continues to go well.
Thanks to
Bob Gentile ,
Jojit and
Nuke Runner for wishing my nephew the best for his birthday, and for his next tour in Iraq. Very kind, and always appreciated!
TOTAL MILES: 6
WEEKLY TOTAL: 55.3

You are doing awesome on your training! Way to go!! You are going to kick butt in Boston! I am so excited for you.
Lillie,
Thanks for all the encouragements and running wisdom you share w/ me.
I believe you'll do great in the Boston Maraton w/ all the training that you do.
God Bless!
I'm a lurker that finds inspiration from your Blog. I first found your link from the RW forums about all those darn cute running skirts! :) Hope to be pulling one of those one in a few months at my first "long" race (15k).
Anyway, just wanted to say, "thanks" for putting yourself out there! I enjoy reading about your achievements and wish I could read about your more beginning days of running.

Hey Lil, Yes Boston race is coming up soon and your going to do Great!
Do you know JEN, she is running the Boston Marathon also-- she is another Speedster, So if you haven't met go stop by and say hello. Like you she has been training hard as well, and who knows you might be able to meet---there are only THOUSANDS of runners and Spectators --haha
http://runningstories.blogspot.com JEN's blog and let me try the HTML link too see if that works...I mess that up sometimes :-(
JEN
Ciao,
Bob
Thanks OCRunnergirl. One of these days I'll follow in your footsteps and take the leap to Ultras... just not anytime soon. ;) I'm wiped out on marathon training as it is. Ultra runners are special! They have something I lack and I just haven't figured out what that is yet. :)
Jojit, I hope you know I gain a lot of inspiration from you! I am so happy that you enjoy running. Training for races can be stressful, and you're finding that out, but be sure to relish those days when you just LOVE to be out there running for the pure joy of it. Those days will carry you through tough training!
Andrea, thanks for visiting my blog. I hope you are getting as much out of running as I am. I've been running since I was 16 and on the high school cross country team, but I didn't really love it until I was over 30. It's a whole new world for me! I am looking forward to hearing about your 15K. That's a distance I have yet to race! BEST of luck in your training!
Hey Bob! I will definitely check out Jen's blog. I love reading other people's blogs and picking up training tips and motivation along the way. It'd be great to meet another local runner who's going to run Boston.
I was NEVER an athlete - always wanted to be a runner as a teenager, but would go out, run hard, get shin splints and stop. :) I finally eased into it (at 33 - post baby #2, go figure) and it's so much better now.
You know, I don't *love* it yet... I do, however, LOVE the feeling afterwards and the accomplishment, but I'm not where I can say, "woo hoo, let's go out there and RUN!". Can't wait until I am, though!
