Taking It Easy on the Toe!

I did the CrossFit Workout of the Day, with modifications. I was very careful about the toe situation, so no worries!
I did the standard CF warm up and then --
Prescribed workout:
For time --
21-18-15-12-9-6- and 3 rep rounds of:
1 1/2 pood Kettlebell swing (I subbed a 20lb dumbell).
Pull-ups (I subbed jumping pull-ups, being ever mindful of my toe).

I completed the prescribed workout in 12:10.
Afterward I did 60 more sit-ups to make it 105 for the day (the warm up called for 3 sets of 15).

I love CrossFit. I feel so good when I do these workouts. I wish I could run, but gotta hold off on that for a bit. I'm going to have to find good cross training substitutes.

Have a great Monday!

Ack, so sorry to hear about the toe! At least you can be thankful that it happened after Boston instead of before. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it's not serious. Do you have an appt. to get it looked at?

Swim & Cycle - both great!

I love CrossFit, too. Thank you for introducing it to me. I'll be getting back into it regularly now that the 1/2 is behind me (I didn't do it for a couple weeks preceding... didn't want to be sore). :)

So, what did the Dr. say in regards to your toe? I hope it isn't broken. My thoughts/prayers are with you.

Sorry about your toe! I like your attitude though. You'll have more time to spend with family and friends, plus you can focus on your strength and cross training! You'll come back a stronger runner than ever. Good luck and keep the positive attitude! :)

Hey Dawn, I'm too neurotic about running to let anything stop me. I just try to work with what I'm given. :-)

Hi Gladys (CC), I'd definitely like to give Ultras a try. Of course I'll start out with the distance as close as possible to the marathon and I think it's a 50K (around 32 miles?)

Hi Carolyn, CrossFit is a cross training program focusing on core muscle strength. I have not had a real running related injury since I started it and I feel a lot stronger overall. Their website is crossfit.com.

Hi Jen, thanks for visiting! How's the SF Bay treating you? I miss it there, but just a hop skip and a jump away. In fact, I need to run more races up there when this toe thing gets worked out.

Hey Makita, I'm so glad you like the CF workouts. I'm hooked too! You ran such a great Half! I haven't seen a doc yet about the toe. It actually feels and looks better today, not 100% (or even close) but much better! I'm a procrastinating avoider when it comes to doctors... ugh.

Mir, thank you! I don't think it's as serious as I first thought it was. Let's hope! I'm so so glad it happened after Boston.

Keith, whaddya expect...I gotta keep up with YOU!

I'm going to lay off running for the rest of the week. The soreness has definitely improved as has the swelling. The bruising seems lighter too. If it continues to get better this week, I may not even call the doc. I know, I know...
