I love the Masters Board on Runnersworld.com. The runners there are so supportive, excellent, speedy runners, and just plain friendly. RGreen45 is one of the regular forumites there and he ran an incredibly difficult and hilly race today. He ran the same course last year, but this year he improved his time on the course by over 2 minutes, and won his Age Division! He trained hard, trained smart, took his easy days easy, and just thought POSITIVE. He had his MOJO going in full force! Way to go, Ray!
With all the MOJO floating around, I had to go out and find mine. Yesterday I made the attempt, and was successful! Thank God!
I ran 7 miles with the middle 5 at Tempo. I didn't really know what my true tempo pace was because I haven't raced since Boston, so I just decided to do what felt good. I was all over the place, thanks to the 80-degree temps at the time I went out.
The 5 mile Tempo RESULTS:
7:30, 7:15, 7:23, 7:33 (gettin' hot out), 7:05! Tempo time of 36:46 (avg 7:21 pace).
That last mile kinda threw me, but then again a FREAKIN' unleashed big dog came charging at me growling and barking, then changed his mind and took off the other way. UGH! I hate that! I was scared he'd catch me so I sped up.
But the good news is, I FOUND MY MOJO! Now go out and get yours! ;-)

I hate meeting dogs when i run. But much more I hate stupid owners of animals! Their dogs don't obey their comands.
But there are normal animals and owners too:)

Great run! I'm glad nothing bad happened with the dog. I know 90% of the time the dog is just investigating or wants to play, but it's still scary! I hate irresponsible dog owners, grrr.
