I've been a slacker posting my workouts lately. Ugh.
Let's see, Sunday I ran 6 easy miles in the early morning hours. Then I hiked in Yosemite and I will share pictures in another post. We went as a family and it was so much fun!
Monday my legs were so shot from running and hiking the day before. I managed 8 hilly miles on the treadmill between a 9:05 and a 9:13 pace. I was supposed to do 10.
Tuesday I could not find time to run between MOMS Club activities, visiting friends from high school, and the kids' soccer practices. I got home at 7:15 and had to get the baby ready for bed.
Today I ran 9.3 miles today starting at 11:35 a.m. By the time I finished the 4 x 1 mile cruise intervals it was close to 12:45. HOT OUT! No shade at the track of course.
The intervals were all over the place. I ran them by feel and you can tell I felt a combination of tired and not so tired. I followed each mile with an 800 m recovery jog and went straight into the next mile.
7:06
7:12
7:00
7:13
I have a 5K race this Saturday so I also didn't want to run the intervals too hard. I want to save as much as I can for the race. We'll see how it goes. It's my first race since Boston. It's supposed to be a flat and fast USATF Certified course. I'd like to run it in 21:00 or as close to that as possible. That's 6:45/mile. Am I ready for that? Please cross your fingers for me. Thanks!
Mileage Total 8/7-8/13 = 36.1

Oh, I love Yosemite! Can't wait to see the pictures. Great job getting your workouts in, and nice intervals! I know you will rock that 5k. You've got some serious speed and a lot of people rooting for you! Gooooooooo GB!!! :) Good luck!!
Another way to look at it is you have all that pent-up energy and competitiveness stored since Boston. You're training is high quality. Run smart then you'll run well in your 5k. Good luck!
Hi!
I'm a new runner (first 5K is next Saturday)! You're an inspiration, especially the picture of you in Boston. That's awesome!
How old are your kids? Mine are 9, 6, and 1. I run for sanity breaks, how about you?
